Mark has been to our home for 2 different jobs now and did great work both times. He has had excellent communication, and was honest, friendly and professional. Jennifer was also super pleasant to schedule with and made sure if she didn’t have answers to my questions she would find them out and got back to me so quick. Their e-mail communication/online portal for estimates is very clear and user friendly too use and understand. I’d highly recommend MVP to anyone needing plumbing work done.

I was in need for a plumber after noticing a leak in the basement. I came across MVP Plumbing based on their excellent reviews and I now see why they were so highly rated. Adam was sent to my home and he was fantastic. He was extremely professional and took the time to ensure I knew what the issue was and clearly went over the estimate with me so I knew exactly what it would cost before work began. He was not pushy or sales aggressive, and I really understood and believed his recommendations. The work was completed very quickly and he walked me through everything. He took a sample of our tap water for free and tested it for quality. Again, mentioned the services/products that may be helpful, but was not pushy. When Adam left, I truly felt good about the service I received. I now have a go to plumbing company that I will not hesitate to contact for any related issues and I will refer them to my neighbors and mention my great experience. It was refreshing to receive this level of service from MVP Plumbing and in particular, Adam! Thank You!

Adam came out to help with a couple of requests. The major fix was adding a pressure-reducing valve to our water main. We were running over 100 psi and now we are regulated to something safer for our pipes! A few parts swapped to stop our toilet from whistling, a new shower head, and a new set of hardware for our utility sink.

Thanks for the help, Adam. You were awesome, worked quickly, efficiently, cleanly, respectfully, and were up-front and honest with your suggestions and the complete cost of the completed work.

We look forward to working with you again when we need to (eventually) replace our water heater!

MVP plumbing is an excellent plumbing and heating company! They replaced my parents 35 year old oil furnace with a new one and did a very professional job. No problems. No call backs. Cleaned everything up once finished so other than the new furnace, you never would’ve known they were there. My mom especially loved the owner, Mark. She thought he was very knowledgeable and was up front with all costs. No surprises. We’ll definitely use MVP for future plumbing projects!

Reliable Plumbing Repair for Springfield Township Homes

The ranch homes and split-levels that define much of Springfield’s residential character were built quickly during the postwar boom, and not all of them received the same level of care in their original construction. Plumbing systems in these homes often have quirks that show up decades later, including unvented drain lines, undersized supply branches, and original cast iron stack sections that have been quietly corroding for 60 years.

We handle repair calls in Springfield that include:

    • Cast iron drain stack repairs where corrosion has caused pinhole leaks or joint failures
    • Water heater repairs for units losing efficiency due to sediment or component wear
    • Toilet and fixture issues across bathrooms that have not been updated since original construction
    • Kitchen drain clogs from years of grease and soap buildup in cast iron lines
    • Sump pump failure in basements that rely on working drainage during heavy rain seasons

We assess your plumbing honestly and give you a real solution, not a temporary fix.

Plumbing Installations That Make Springfield Homes More Reliable

Springfield homeowners who have been patching the same aging systems year after year often find that a targeted installation delivers better long-term value than ongoing reactive repairs. We help you evaluate that decision honestly and execute the right upgrade when the time comes.

We install the following for Springfield residents:

    • Water heater replacement with standard or tankless options suited to your household’s needs
    • Supply line repiping to replace galvanized or aging copper that has narrowed with corrosion
    • Water softener systems to reduce mineral buildup and extend the life of fixtures and appliances
    • Sump pump and battery backup installations for basements prone to seasonal water intrusion
    • New bathroom and kitchen fixtures for homeowners updating their spaces

We install everything to code, with materials built for the demands of this climate.

    Efficient Plumbing Service in Springfield

Springfield Plumbing Services That Cover All the Bases

Springfield Township sees weather that challenges residential plumbing from every direction. The summer heat and humidity that settle in over Delaware County every year create conditions that accelerate indoor pipe corrosion, while the hard freezes that arrive in January and February test exposed supply lines in garages, crawl spaces, and unheated utility rooms. We offer services built around the full seasonal picture.

    Our Springfield service menu includes:

    • Emergency response for unexpected pipe failures and major drain backups
    • Drain cleaning and hydro-jetting to restore capacity in lines slowed by buildup
    • Camera inspection of sewer and drain lines for homes with older underground infrastructure
    • Leak detection to locate hidden water loss before it causes structural damage
    • Scheduled maintenance to keep aging plumbing systems operating safely through every season

We keep Springfield homes running reliably from one season to the next.

Inside a Typical Service Visit in Springfield

Carol had been smelling something musty in her laundry room for weeks and could not figure out whether it was the washer or a plumbing issue. When our plumber arrived at her ranch-style home near Saxer Avenue, he found the problem quickly: the standpipe that the washing machine drained into had a small but consistent leak at the base where it connected to the cast iron drain below the floor. The joint had corroded and was weeping slowly each time the washer drained. We sealed the connection and replaced the corroded section of the standpipe. Carol said the smell was gone within a day and she finally felt comfortable using her laundry room again without worrying about what was happening behind the walls.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What causes a musty smell in my laundry room?

Common sources include a slow drain pipe leak behind the wall, a clogged or dry floor drain trap, a leak at the washing machine standpipe connection, or moisture collecting in a poorly ventilated utility space. A plumber can identify the source quickly.

Cast iron drain stacks can last 75 to 100 years under good conditions, but corrosion from the inside out, aggressive water chemistry, and physical damage to joints can shorten that lifespan considerably. Homes built in the 1950s and 60s may be approaching the end of their stack’s reliable service life.

Signs include the pump running constantly, making unusual grinding or rattling sounds, failing to turn on when the pit fills, or showing visible rust and corrosion on the unit body. Any of these symptoms warrants inspection before the next heavy rain season.

Attached garages are often unheated and experience outdoor temperatures when the garage door is open or when outside air infiltrates through unsealed gaps. Any supply line running through or along an exterior garage wall is vulnerable to freezing during extended cold snaps.

In most cases, no. Softened water is actually gentler on pipe interiors than hard water, which deposits scale that can eventually restrict flow. There are rare situations involving very old lead pipes where softened water chemistry may increase corrosion risk, which is another reason to have a plumber assess your system before installation.
