It’s not often that people say what a pleasure it is to interact with my plumber. However, this could not be more true about Mark from MVP plumbing. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and works with you to make the best decision for your house. Unlike other plumbers, they actually call you back, and seem like your next door neighbor! From making the appointment with the sweetest customer service representative and getting the appointment the next day, to the most amicable plumber/ person….everything about MVP plumbing is great! Call them and you won’t be disappointed!
Mark has been to our home for 2 different jobs now and did great work both times. He has had excellent communication, and was honest, friendly and professional. Jennifer was also super pleasant to schedule with and made sure if she didn’t have answers to my questions she would find them out and got back to me so quick. Their e-mail communication/online portal for estimates is very clear and user friendly too use and understand. I’d highly recommend MVP to anyone needing plumbing work done.
Mark and his helper installed a Spring Well whole house filtration system for us. He was clear and communicative, quoted a reasonable price, and completed the job faster than expected! Would highly recommend.
Requesting an appointment was incredibly simple too!

I was in need for a plumber after noticing a leak in the basement. I came across MVP Plumbing based on their excellent reviews and I now see why they were so highly rated. Adam was sent to my home and he was fantastic. He was extremely professional and took the time to ensure I knew what the issue was and clearly went over the estimate with me so I knew exactly what it would cost before work began. He was not pushy or sales aggressive, and I really understood and believed his recommendations. The work was completed very quickly and he walked me through everything. He took a sample of our tap water for free and tested it for quality. Again, mentioned the services/products that may be helpful, but was not pushy. When Adam left, I truly felt good about the service I received. I now have a go to plumbing company that I will not hesitate to contact for any related issues and I will refer them to my neighbors and mention my great experience. It was refreshing to receive this level of service from MVP Plumbing and in particular, Adam! Thank You!

Adam came out to help with a couple of requests. The major fix was adding a pressure-reducing valve to our water main. We were running over 100 psi and now we are regulated to something safer for our pipes! A few parts swapped to stop our toilet from whistling, a new shower head, and a new set of hardware for our utility sink.

Thanks for the help, Adam. You were awesome, worked quickly, efficiently, cleanly, respectfully, and were up-front and honest with your suggestions and the complete cost of the completed work.

We look forward to working with you again when we need to (eventually) replace our water heater!

MVP plumbing is an excellent plumbing and heating company! They replaced my parents 35 year old oil furnace with a new one and did a very professional job. No problems. No call backs. Cleaned everything up once finished so other than the new furnace, you never would’ve known they were there. My mom especially loved the owner, Mark. She thought he was very knowledgeable and was up front with all costs. No surprises. We’ll definitely use MVP for future plumbing projects!

Plumbing Repair Wynnewood Homeowners Can Count On

Wynnewood’s mix of pre-war and postwar homes means plumbing repair here covers a wide range of materials, configurations, and failure modes. Partial updates done by previous owners can create situations where modern and original materials meet at connections that were not designed to last. Hard water accelerates wear throughout. And the humid summers that define this part of the Main Line do their share of damage inside wall cavities and utility spaces.

Repairs we regularly perform for Wynnewood homeowners include:

    • Leaking connections where older and newer pipe materials have been joined improperly over the years
    • Water heater issues ranging from sediment flushing to full unit failure and replacement
    • Sewer lateral repairs in yards where mature root systems have found their way into clay or cast iron lines
    • Fixture failures in bathrooms that have been cosmetically updated but still rely on original supply and drain lines
    • Sump pump service for basements that take on water during the heavy rain events this region sees regularly

We find the real problem and fix it so it does not come back.

    • Water heater replacement with modern tank or tankless units matched to your household’s actual hot water needs
    • Whole-home repiping to replace corroded galvanized or aging copper supply lines throughout
    • Water softener installation to reduce the hard water mineral content common throughout Lower Merion
    • Water filtration systems for improved drinking water quality and appliance longevity
    • Sump pump systems with battery backup for basements that regularly see seasonal moisture

Wynnewood Plumbing Services Ready When You Need Them

Wynnewood homeowners benefit from a plumbing company that understands the seasonal rhythm of this region. The heat and humidity of a Main Line summer put real stress on older infrastructure, and the winter freeze events that come with a Pennsylvania January and February can catch exposed pipe runs off guard in homes that have not had their plumbing updated in years. We are ready to respond to whatever comes up.

Our service menu for Wynnewood residents includes:

    • Emergency plumbing service for pipe bursts, sewer backups, and urgent drain failures
    • Drain cleaning and hydro-jetting to restore flow in slow or blocked lines
    • Camera-based sewer and drain inspection for an accurate picture of underground pipe condition
    • Leak detection to find water loss inside walls or under floors before serious damage develops
    • Routine plumbing inspections to catch developing issues in aging systems before they escalate

Wynnewood homeowners can call MVP Plumbing with confidence, any time they need us.

Inside a Typical Service Visit in Wynnewood

Helen had been getting occasional hot water at her kitchen sink that would quickly go cold even though the rest of the house had no issue. She had assumed it was a water heater problem and braced herself for a large repair bill. When our plumber arrived at her colonial off Remington Road, he traced the kitchen supply back and found that a previous owner had installed a mixing valve under the sink that had failed internally and was blending cold water into the hot line. Replacing the faulty valve resolved the issue completely. Helen was relieved the fix was affordable and appreciated that our plumber took the time to track down the actual cause rather than assuming the water heater was to blame.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is a mixing valve and what happens when it fails?

A mixing valve blends hot and cold water to deliver a specific temperature at a fixture. When it fails internally, it can continuously allow cold water to mix into the hot line, causing lukewarm output at a single fixture even when the rest of the home has normal hot water.

When incompatible metals are joined without the correct dielectric fittings, galvanic corrosion accelerates at the connection point, leading to leaks, reduced lifespan for both pipe sections, and water quality issues from corrosion byproducts entering the supply.

The water in Lower Merion tends toward moderate to high hardness, which deposits calcium and magnesium inside pipes, water heaters, and fixtures over time. This accelerates scale buildup, reduces appliance efficiency, and shortens the service life of unprotected plumbing components.

Insulate exposed pipe runs in unheated areas, disconnect and drain outdoor hose bibs before the first freeze, confirm your main shutoff valve operates freely, and have a plumber check any pipe runs along exterior walls that may lack adequate insulation from previous renovations.

When only one fixture lacks hot water while the rest of the home has normal supply, the problem is almost always local to that fixture or its supply line. Common causes include a failed mixing valve, a kinked flex line, a partially closed shutoff valve, or a corroded branch connection.
