    Plumber in Havertown, PA

Havertown is one of those communities that has a strong sense of itself. People move in and stay for decades, which means homes here see a lot of use and a lot of history. The postwar development that shaped much of Havertown left behind a housing stock full of brick ranches, two-stories, and split-levels that are now working through plumbing systems anywhere from 50 to 80 years old. MVP Plumbing Repair, Water Filtration and Softeners works with homeowners across Havertown to keep those systems running reliably, repair what has worn out, and upgrade what no longer meets the needs of a modern household.

We are a team that takes pride in honest work and the kind of customer care that holds up over time.

It’s not often that people say what a pleasure it is to interact with my plumber. However, this could not be more true about Mark from MVP plumbing. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and works with you to make the best decision for your house. Unlike other plumbers, they actually call you back, and seem like your next door neighbor! From making the appointment with the sweetest customer service representative and getting the appointment the next day, to the most amicable plumber/ person….everything about MVP plumbing is great! Call them and you won’t be disappointed!
Mark has been to our home for 2 different jobs now and did great work both times. He has had excellent communication, and was honest, friendly and professional. Jennifer was also super pleasant to schedule with and made sure if she didn’t have answers to my questions she would find them out and got back to me so quick. Their e-mail communication/online portal for estimates is very clear and user friendly too use and understand. I’d highly recommend MVP to anyone needing plumbing work done.
Mark and his helper installed a Spring Well whole house filtration system for us. He was clear and communicative, quoted a reasonable price, and completed the job faster than expected! Would highly recommend.
Requesting an appointment was incredibly simple too!

I was in need for a plumber after noticing a leak in the basement. I came across MVP Plumbing based on their excellent reviews and I now see why they were so highly rated. Adam was sent to my home and he was fantastic. He was extremely professional and took the time to ensure I knew what the issue was and clearly went over the estimate with me so I knew exactly what it would cost before work began. He was not pushy or sales aggressive, and I really understood and believed his recommendations. The work was completed very quickly and he walked me through everything. He took a sample of our tap water for free and tested it for quality. Again, mentioned the services/products that may be helpful, but was not pushy. When Adam left, I truly felt good about the service I received. I now have a go to plumbing company that I will not hesitate to contact for any related issues and I will refer them to my neighbors and mention my great experience. It was refreshing to receive this level of service from MVP Plumbing and in particular, Adam! Thank You!

Adam came out to help with a couple of requests. The major fix was adding a pressure-reducing valve to our water main. We were running over 100 psi and now we are regulated to something safer for our pipes! A few parts swapped to stop our toilet from whistling, a new shower head, and a new set of hardware for our utility sink.

Thanks for the help, Adam. You were awesome, worked quickly, efficiently, cleanly, respectfully, and were up-front and honest with your suggestions and the complete cost of the completed work.

We look forward to working with you again when we need to (eventually) replace our water heater!

MVP plumbing is an excellent plumbing and heating company! They replaced my parents 35 year old oil furnace with a new one and did a very professional job. No problems. No call backs. Cleaned everything up once finished so other than the new furnace, you never would’ve known they were there. My mom especially loved the owner, Mark. She thought he was very knowledgeable and was up front with all costs. No surprises. We’ll definitely use MVP for future plumbing projects!

Plumbing Repair That Havertown Homeowners Trust

Half a century of hard use leaves marks on a plumbing system. Havertown homes frequently deal with supply lines that have started to show their age, drain stacks that have accumulated decades of buildup, and sewer laterals that share the yard with roots from trees that have been growing since the Eisenhower era. We know these homes and what they need.

The repair issues we most commonly address in Havertown include:

    • Galvanized supply lines that have narrowed from interior corrosion and are reducing water pressure
    • Kitchen and bathroom drain clogs from decades of accumulated grease, soap, and debris
    • Sewer line blockages caused by root intrusion in older clay or cast iron lateral pipes
    • Leaking toilet bases and tank hardware that waste water and drive up utility bills
    • Water heaters that have passed their expected service life and are no longer heating consistently

We assess everything honestly and only recommend what your home actually needs.

Havertown Plumbing Services Ready for Any Season

Havertown sits in an area where the seasons make real demands on residential plumbing. Summer humidity in Delaware County’s inland neighborhoods speeds up corrosion inside wall cavities and beneath slab floors. Winter temperature drops can catch uninsulated pipes in garages and crawl spaces off guard. Spring brings heavy rain that tests sump pumps and floor drains in earnest. We are ready to respond to all of it.

Our service offerings in Havertown include:

    • Around-the-clock emergency service for pipe failures, backups, and flooding
    • Seasonal pre-winter inspections to identify and protect vulnerable pipe runs
    • Comprehensive drain cleaning to clear lines before heavy rain season puts them to the test
    • Camera and pressure-based leak detection for hidden water loss inside walls or beneath floors
    • Ongoing maintenance agreements for homeowners who prefer a proactive approach

Havertown homeowners can count on MVP Plumbing through every season.

Inside a Typical Service Visit in Havertown

Mike called us in late October after noticing his hot water was running out much faster than usual. He had a 15-year-old tank water heater in his split-level off Eagle Road, and it had never been serviced. When we arrived, we found the tank had significant sediment buildup at the base, which was reducing its effective capacity and causing the burner to work much harder than it should. We flushed the system, inspected the anode rod, and gave Mike an honest assessment: the unit had another year or two if maintained, but replacement would be the smarter call given its age and condition. He decided to replace it, and we had a new efficient unit running before the end of the day.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know when my water heater needs to be replaced versus repaired?

If the unit is under 10 years old and experiencing a single issue like a faulty thermostat or a bad element, repair is usually worthwhile. If it is over 12 years old, has had multiple problems, or is not heating efficiently, replacement typically makes more financial sense.

Minerals in hard water settle at the bottom of your water heater tank over time. This layer insulates the water from the burner, forces the system to work harder, reduces capacity, and shortens the overall lifespan of the unit.

Key signs include visibly rust-colored water when you first turn on a tap, consistently low pressure, frequent small leaks, and any visible corrosion on exposed pipe sections. A plumber can measure flow restriction and assess the extent of interior buildup.

Some ticking or expanding sounds as pipes adjust to temperature changes is normal. Loud banging or sustained knocking, however, can indicate water hammer or loose pipe supports that should be inspected by a plumber.

Jiggling the handle is a temporary workaround that does not fix the underlying issue. A constantly running toilet usually means a worn flapper, a failing fill valve, or an improperly adjusted float. These are inexpensive repairs that stop ongoing water waste immediately.
